Finascia

Finascia is a Finasteride 1mg tablet manufactured by Millimed BFS, a Thai pharmaceutical company. It belongs to the 5-alpha reductase inhibitor drug class.

It works by blocking type II and III 5-alpha reductase, the enzymes that normally convert testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). As scalp DHT levels drop, hair follicles that had been shrinking under DHT's influence gradually recover, hair growth cycles lengthen, and hair loss slows — with some regrowth possible in certain men.

Finascia uses the same generic Finasteride as branded originals, giving men a way to start treating genetic hair loss without overpaying.

Finascia treats genetic male pattern hair loss (androgenetic alopecia), the most common cause of hair loss in adult men. It typically starts as thinning at the crown (vertex) and the frontotemporal hairline, gradually progressing with age.

It suits men who notice early thinning, unusually heavy shedding, or a family history of male pattern baldness — starting treatment early helps preserve more of the existing hair.

Finascia is not suited for hair loss from other causes, such as fungal infection, thyroid disorders, or acute stress (telogen effluvium), which need separate, cause-specific treatment.

Dosage: Take one tablet (Finasteride 1mg) once daily, at the same time each day, continuously without skipping.

It can be taken with or without food — absorption is not affected. What matters most is taking it consistently every day, since a steady blood level affects effectiveness more than any other factor.

Continuous use for at least 3 to 6 months is needed before results become clear, and ongoing use is required to maintain them — stopping causes hair loss to gradually return within a few months.

Finascia is considered safe when used as directed. Side effects affecting more than 1 in 100 people include reduced sex drive, erectile difficulties, and reduced semen volume during ejaculation. These usually improve with continued use and often resolve after stopping, though a small number of men report symptoms that persist.

Side effects affecting fewer than 1 in 1,000 people include low mood or thoughts of self-harm — stop the medicine immediately and see a doctor if this occurs — along with breast enlargement, lumps, or nipple discharge, which are rare but warrant prompt medical attention.

For a severe allergic reaction — rash, swelling of the face or throat, difficulty breathing — stop taking Finascia and seek emergency care immediately.

Contraindications:

• Never use in women under any circumstances, especially those who are pregnant or may become pregnant — Finasteride can cause genital abnormalities in a male fetus
• Not for use in children, or anyone allergic to Finasteride or any ingredient in the tablet

Key precautions:

• Whole tablets are coated to prevent contact during normal handling, but women who are or may become pregnant must never handle broken or crushed tablets, since the drug can absorb through skin. If accidental contact occurs, wash the area with soap and water immediately
• People with liver disease should inform their doctor or pharmacist before use, since the liver is the main organ that clears this drug
• Finasteride can lower PSA levels (used to screen for prostate cancer) by roughly half — tell your doctor you're taking it before any PSA test
