About Ventolin Evohaler
What is Ventolin Evohaler?
Ventolin Evohaler is an MDI bronchodilator with Salbutamol 100 mcg/puff:
- Mechanism: Selective short-acting Beta-2 Agonist (SABA) that relaxes bronchial smooth muscle for rapid airway opening
- Fastest onset: 1-5 minutes — the quickest bronchodilator, ideal as an emergency reliever
- Selectivity: Higher Beta-2 vs Beta-1 selectivity means fewer cardiac effects than older bronchodilators
Lasts 4-6 hours. 200 doses per canister — weeks of use per inhaler.
What does Ventolin Evohaler treat?
Ventolin with Salbutamol treats:
- Acute Asthma — Fastest relief (1-5 min) for wheezing, chest tightness, shortness of breath
- COPD — Acute reliever. For longer action, consider Berodual (dual mechanism)
- Exercise-induced Bronchospasm — 2 puffs (200 mcg) 15-30 min before exercise
Reliever only, not a controller. Using >3-4 times/day or >1 canister/month means poor disease control — add ICS.
How to use Ventolin Evohaler

Pregnancy/breastfeeding: Consult a doctor. Not recommended in first trimester. May be excreted in breast milk.
