Doproct Suppository

Doproct Suppository is a hemorrhoid treatment with four complementary active ingredients:

• Lidocaine (40 mg) — Local anesthetic blocking sodium channels for immediate pain and itch relief
• Hydrocortisone (7.5 mg) — Mild corticosteroid suppressing Prostaglandins and Leukotrienes to reduce swelling, redness and itching
• Zinc Oxide (250 mg) — Astringent protecting rectal mucosa and promoting wound healing
• Aluminium Acetate (35 mg) — Astringent reducing irritation and promoting drying

Acts locally inside the rectum with minimal systemic absorption.

Doproct Suppository treats:

Dosage: Adults and children 12+: Insert 1 suppository 1-2 times daily after bowel movement and/or before bedtime.

How to use correctly:

1. Wash hands and clean the anal area with warm water, pat dry
2. Unwrap suppository — if too soft, chill briefly in cold water or refrigerator
3. Lie on your side, bend top knee toward chest (Sims' position)
4. Gently insert about 1 inch into the rectum
5. Remain lying down for 15-20 minutes for full absorption
6. Wash hands thoroughly after use

Important: Do not use for more than 7-14 consecutive days. Children under 12 should consult a doctor.

Common: Burning or irritation at insertion site (usually resolves in minutes), numbness from Lidocaine (normal and temporary)

With prolonged use (beyond 7-14 days): Skin thinning around the anus (from Hydrocortisone), increased risk of secondary infection

Stop and seek help if: Severe allergic reaction (hives, difficulty breathing, facial swelling) or worsening symptoms

May cause mild drowsiness in some patients from Lidocaine absorption — exercise caution when driving.

Do not use: Allergy to Lidocaine, Hydrocortisone, Zinc Oxide, Aluminium Acetate; viral (herpes), fungal or tubercular infections at the site; children under 12

Precautions:

• Do not use for more than 7-14 days (contains Hydrocortisone)
• Caution with Class III antiarrhythmics (e.g. Amiodarone) — Lidocaine may potentiate
• Avoid alcohol during use

Pregnancy/breastfeeding: Consult a doctor. Not recommended in first and third trimesters. May be excreted in breast milk.
