What is Elomet Cream?
Elomet Cream is a potent topical corticosteroid (Group III) containing Mometasone Furoate 0.1%:
Mechanism: Stimulates Lipocortins production, inhibiting Phospholipase A2 to reduce Prostaglandins and Leukotrienes — decreasing inflammation, itching, redness and swelling
Vasoconstrictive: Reduces redness and swelling
Topical action: Engineered for low systemic absorption, once-daily application is sufficient
Mometasone is significantly more potent than Hydrocortisone, suitable for conditions that don't respond to mild corticosteroids.
What does Elomet Cream treat?

How to apply Elomet Cream
Dosage: Adults/children 12+: Apply a thin film once daily. Children 2-12: Once daily, minimum amount for shortest duration (max 3 weeks).
Application steps:
Clean and dry the skin
Use the Fingertip Unit (FTU) guide — 1 FTU covers approximately 2 palms
Apply thinly, spread evenly without rubbing hard
Wash hands after application (unless treating hands)
Important: Do not use occlusive dressings — increases Mometasone absorption. Limit to 2-3 weeks for adults, 5 days on the face.
Side effects of Elomet Cream
Common: Burning/stinging at application site (usually temporary), skin dryness
With prolonged/widespread use: Skin thinning (atrophy), stretch marks (striae), folliculitis, hypertrichosis, skin discoloration, HPA axis suppression (very rare with proper use)
Stop and seek help if: Severe irritation, secondary infection, signs of Cushing's syndrome, or non-healing wounds.

Common: burning, itching, skin dryness at the site. Prolonged use may cause skin thinning, stretch marks or folliculitis. Stop if severe irritation occurs.
