Condoms

A condom is a barrier contraceptive worn over the penis before sex to prevent pregnancy and reduce the risk of sexually transmitted infections.

Three main materials:

• Latex — the most common; flexible and effective against both pregnancy and STIs. Compatible with water- and silicone-based lubricants.
• Polyurethane — for people with latex allergies; thinner, better heat transfer, and more lube-compatible.

Correct steps:

4. Roll the condom all the way down.
5. After sex, hold the base while withdrawing before going soft. Tie a knot and bin it.

Common failure causes: putting it on too late, wearing it inside out, using oil-based lube with latex, or storing it in heat.
